In addition to talking psychotherapy I work with various art forms providing an alternative means of expression and communication.
Sometimes it is difficult to speak about how we feel, sometimes we don’t know what we are actually feeling. This is where the arts can be very helpful. When we create we are externalising a part of ourselves and expressing feelings both consciously and unconsciously. Creating gives us a form which is tangible and concrete to explore together. Through the exploration of the form you have the opportunity to give voice to your emotions, look more deeply at those parts yourself that maybe struggling. The arts are another important way to bring the unconscious aspects of a person’s problems to light. You will find that creating even without words has deeply therapeutic value.
It is both a playful and creative process that is not concerned with technique or end product.
I offer sandtray, drawing, paint, and clay media. Artistic experience is not expected or required.
